For home-service businesses

AI receptionist for contractors · Toronto & GTA

On the job? Let your AI receptionist answer the call.

Your next customer may call while you're on a ladder, under a sink or driving between jobs. PM Media sets up and manages an AI phone receptionist that can answer missed and after-hours calls, collect basic job details and alert your team to follow up.

A managed service, not a promise of guaranteed bookings or revenue. Availability depends on your phone setup.

The service

A busy workday shouldn't leave every caller at voicemail.

We help plumbers, HVAC teams, roofers and other contractors create a clearer first response when staff can't pick up. Your AI receptionist handles the initial conversation; your people handle the actual work.

Answer the call

Set up AI as an answering option for missed calls, after-hours calls or a dedicated line, depending on your phone configuration.

Ask the basics

Collect the caller's name, phone number, service request and general service area using approved questions.

Notify your team

Send an internal alert and create an organized lead or callback task so the enquiry has a next step.

Stay in control

Use a defined handoff process for urgent requests, complicated questions and anything the AI cannot reliably handle.

A late-night plumbing enquiry, handled with a clear next step.

Imagine a homeowner discovers a leak after your office closes. Instead of asking them to leave an unstructured message, a configured AI receptionist can collect the basics and alert your team.

Beyond a recorded message

Know which enquiries still need attention.

A useful receptionist doesn't just answer. It makes the next action easier for your team.

  • Basic enquiry details in one organized view
  • Internal alerts to the right contact or team member
  • Callback status so requests don't disappear into an inbox
  • A monthly review of the call-handling workflow

Specific alerts, transcripts, recordings and reports depend on your approved setup and data-handling choices.

A focused first implementation

What PM Media actually sets up and manages.

No sprawling automation project. We start with one usable answering workflow and a documented handoff.

Made for the owner in the field

From the phone call to a human follow-up.

When the AI captures a request, your team should know what happened and who needs a callback. PM Media configures the handoff around how you currently work—not around a complicated dashboard you have to learn overnight.

Simple, scoped pricing

Let's price the calls you actually need covered.

We review your business hours, approximate call volume, existing number and escalation requirements before confirming a setup fee and monthly managed plan. You'll see any included call allowance and usage charges before approving the service.

An AI receptionist is not guaranteed to answer every call; routing, connectivity, working hours and fallback settings affect coverage.

Common questions

AI receptionist FAQs for contractors

Can this work with my existing business phone number?

Possibly. We first review your phone provider, forwarding options, voicemail, routing and availability. Some businesses use a dedicated line or forward unanswered calls to an AI-enabled number. We test the actual call path before activation.

Will the AI answer every call, 24/7?

We can configure all-hours or selected-hours coverage where supported. Actual answering depends on number provisioning, routing, forwarding, timeouts, service availability and fallbacks. We won't promise uninterrupted coverage.

Can it give job estimates or promise arrival times?

Not in our initial package. It can share approved general business information and capture a request, but a staff member should confirm prices, technician availability and job commitments.

What happens with emergency calls?

We define which situations need urgent human escalation before launch. The AI uses an approved script and handoff route. It is not an emergency-dispatch service and should never replace calling emergency services where appropriate.

Does it replace my office receptionist?

Our starting offer is a backup or after-hours answering assistant, not a promise to replace your staff. It handles the initial routine conversation and passes requests to your team.

Will callers know they are speaking with AI?

Yes. We recommend an upfront virtual-assistant disclosure. If recording is enabled, we'll also review the call-recording notice, purpose, consent, retention and access requirements before launch.

Does it automatically send customers promotional text messages?

No marketing follow-up is included by default. Any SMS or email workflow is reviewed separately for appropriate consent, identification and opt-out handling.

What software powers the service?

PM Media configures and manages the service using HighLevel technology. We provide the implementation, approved call scripts, workflow testing and management; the underlying software is not proprietary to PM Media.

Do you work with contractors outside Toronto?

PM Media serves Toronto and Greater Toronto Area businesses. Remote implementation elsewhere in Canada may be available following a review of phone-system compatibility and applicable requirements.
